Macarthur Competitor Assistance Policies
Interclub Series
Overview:
The Interclub Series is a 5 event road race series that is held in conjunction with five other southern region cycling clubs. The events are run from May through to September each year and the cycling clubs involved in the Interclub Series are:
- Goulburn
- Illawarra
- Macarthur
- Nowra/Eurobodalla
- Southern Highlands
Each race is a handicapped event which means that the slowest rider will start first and the fastest rider starting last. The event is usually no more than 51km in distance. As the event is a handicap event this means that anyone can participate as each competitor will be graded according to their ability.
Entry fee for each event is $ 15.00.
About the Policy:
The main reason for the Macarthur Competitor Assistance Policy – Interclub Series is to not only encourage all members of the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club to compete in all 5 interclub events but to also provide a financial assistance towards the costs involved in attending these events.
Interclub Series - Macarthur Competitor Assistance Policy 2012
- Any member of the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club that competes in all 5 Interclub series events shall receive 50% reimbursement of their entry fees. A total of no more than $ 37.50 shall be reimbursed to those members who show receipts of their entry fees.
- Should a member compete in less than 5 Interclub series events then no reimbursement will be given.
- All reimbursements will be made payable to the member in November, on the Club’s Annual Presentation Night.
- All claims must be made using the Club Assistance Claim Form and must be submitted to the Treasurer no later than 2 weeks prior to the Annual Presentation Night.
- Claims made after the Annual Presentation Night will not be accepted.
- Members must be representing the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club and wearing the club approved clothing in order to claim assistance.
Open Events
Overview:
An Open event is any event that is listed under Cycling NSW event calendar or Cycling Australia event calendar. Open Events can be either be a handicapped event which means that the slowest rider will start first and the fastest rider starting last or a graded event which means a group of competitors at the same or similar level of ability. An Open event can range from 15km to 220km in distance. Open events sometimes have several graded events which means that anyone can participate as each competitor will be graded according to their ability.
Entry fee for each event is generally $ 25.00

The main reason for the Macarthur Competitor Assistance Policy – Open Events is to not only encourage all members of the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club to compete in Open events but to also provide a financial assistance towards the costs involved in attending these events.
Open Events - Macarthur Competitor Assistance Policy-2012
- Any member of the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club that competes in an Open event shall receive 50% reimbursement of their entry fees. A total of no more than $300 shall be reimbursed to those members who show receipts of their entry fees.
- All reimbursements will be made payable to the member in November, on the Club’s Annual Presentation Night.
- All claims must be made using the Club Assistance Claim Form and must be submitted to the Treasurer no later than 2 weeks prior to the Annual Presentation Night.

Macarthur International Financial Assistance 2012
Overview:
The Macarthur International Financial Assistance Policy is to provide financial assistance to those who are actively competing at a higher level of cycle racing, this being A grade state and international events.
The Macarthur International Financial Assistance Policy does not include the Macarthur Competitor Assistance Policy – Interclub Series and Macarthur Competitor Assistance Policy - Open Events or any claims made using these policies.
About the Policy:
The main reason for the Macarthur International Financial Assistance Policy is to not only encourage members of the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club to compete at a higher level of cycle racing but to also provide a financial assistance towards the costs involved.
Macarthur International Financial Assistance Policy
- Any member wishing to make a claim of any amount off the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club and this policy must provide a detailed letter in writing. The letter must be addressed to the President.
- Once the letter has been received it will be assessed by the executive committee of the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club and a letter stating the result of the request will be sent.
- There is no guarantee that all requests for assistance will be favourable, however every request for financial assistance will be assessed on a case by case basis.
- It is appreciated that the Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club is represented in some way during the event if which the claim relates.
